SibShare: A Group for Siblings of Special Needs Children
The Next SIBSHARE Session Begins Thursday September 10th from 3:30 - 4:30PM
Siblings of children with special needs children have many different feelings about their brother or sister. They are often very loyal and protective of their sibling. Sometimes they may feel embarrassed or lonely because of all the special attention the sibling with special needs receives. SibShare is a group where children whose siblings have special needs can share these thoughts and feelings. Through focused activities, games, and discussion, siblings will have a safe place to come together and have time and attention devoted to them. Parents will also learn ways to talk about these issues with their children and to help them cope with the range of feelings that their son or daughter may experience as the sibling of a child with special needs.
SibShare is for Children in Grades 2-5
